ABC and Synergis Team Up to Deliver BIM Training for Contractors

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) today announced a collaboration with Synergis Engineering Design Solutions, a Platinum provider of Autodesk products, to bring Building Information Modeling (BIM) training to ABC contractor members to make them more productive, efficient and profitable. Associated Builders and Contractors Blasts Unprecedented Change to Senate Rules and Procedures

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) today expressed concern over a controversial change in U.S. Senate rules and procedures that will allow the majority party to skirt a filibuster to confirm certain presidential appointments.  Traditionally, 60 votes have been needed to confirm nominees and pass legislation, but by invoking this unprecedented rule change along partisan lines, the majority has lowered that threshold to a simple majority of 51 votes.

ABC Foresees Additional Recovery in Nonresidential Sectors Next Year

Associated Builders and Contractors’ (ABC) 2014 economic forecast for the U.S. commercial and industrial construction industry is consistent with ongoing recovery in nonresidential construction spending next year. However, the recovery remains constrained by a lack of conviction regarding overall macroeconomic and budgetary prospects in the United States.

Associated Builders and Contractors Files Suit Against OFCCP Rule

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) today filed a request for an injunction in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia against an Aug. 27 rule from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) that drastically alters federal contractors’ existing affirmative action and nondiscrimination obligations for individuals with disabilities.

ABC Member Wins Alabama Special Runoff Election for U.S Congressional Seat

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) today applauded the Nov. 5 victory of ABC Alabama Chapter member and former state Sen. Bradley Byrne in a Republican special primary runoff election for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives representing Alabama’s 1st Congressional District.
